The current delivery methods available in Louisiana’s therapeutic Cannabis pharmacies are tinctures, meter dose inhalers (vapes), topicals, gelatin chews (gummies), topical creams, and concentrates. We currently have all of these Louisiana approved delivery methods available in stock.
How to Become a Medical Cannabis Patient?
Finding a Recommending Physician
As of August 1st, 2020, any Louisiana licensed Medical Doctor in good standing with the Louisiana Board of Medical Examiners may recommend Medical Cannabis to their patients.

SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA’S THERAPEUTIC CANNABIS PHARMACY
Nine initial pharmacies were awarded a permit from the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy to dispense therapeutic Cannabis (medical marijuana) to qualifying patients. Willow Pharmacy of Madisonville on the north shore of Lake Ponchartrain was awarded the sole permit in the Southeast region (Region 9) that covers the “Florida Parishes” of Livingston, St. Helena, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, and Washington. These are the geographic areas contemplated by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy and based on the nine regions established by the Department of Health. Of course qualified patients can obtain these Cannabis medicines from anywhere within the state that they wish and that their recommending physician responsively sends them.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS TO OBTAIN A RECOMMENDATION AND GET YOUR CANNABIS MEDICINES:
- Receive a diagnosis for a disease that qualifies under state law (see below on “Louisiana’s current Qualifying Conditions”).
- Find a duly licensed physician in Louisiana who can evaluate you and write a “recommendation” for therapeutic Cannabis (see below on “Finding a Recommending Physician”) and then inform your doctor where you’d like your recommendation sent (Willow Pharmacy).
- Recommending physicians will then FAX your recommendation to us at: Willow Pharmacy, 1519 Highway 22 W, Madisonville Center Suite 5, Madisonville, Louisiana.
- Physically travel to Willow Pharmacy to collect your medical cannabis and if you wish, consult with your pharmacist.
